Vietnam Potable Water Project

The Vietnam Potable Water Project (VPWP) - is an Artistic and Humanitarian Event with the purpose to raise funds for the creation of a network of potable water production modules, in Vietnam’s rural areas.

According to the EET, Vietnam has around 60 million people residing in the rural population lacking potable water supply. With local administrative government organisation and technical capacity to support the VPWP project in the long term, Vietnam is an ideal location to implement the project.

The project aims to create a network of potable water supply in rural areas of Vietnam through installation of water treatment modules which are compact, robust and reliable. The running and maintenance of these treatment modules are easy and could be achieved by locals after a short training. In the long term, it is hoped that most materials and parts required for these water treatment modules will be manufactured in Vietnam, creating jobs for the people.

To raise funds for the VPWP project, a classical music featuring Volker Hartung, Nancy Yuen, Clementine Margaine and the Volker Hartung’s Chamber Orchestra will be held on 3 Apr 2009. If you happen to be in Singapore and would like to attend, the tickets are available here.
