Behold the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics, a car inspired by Usain Bolt’s Puma training shoes

Spotted on CNET, is the German car maker’s new concept car designed with an almost exoskeletal appearance. The body panels look as if they’ve “enormous chunks gouged out of them for less resistance through the air”.

This out-of-the world design is surprising environmentally friendly. It is powered with a unique hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 1.5-litre turbo-charged diesel engine, a real-mounted electric motor producing 28kW and 290Nm of torque. Peak performance is approximately 356hp and 800Nm for a car that weighs 1,395 kg.
