Patrick Cox new shop in Tokyo provides a halo effect

Japanese architect Chikara Ohno from design firm Sinato, has designed the interior for Patrick Cox new shop in the fashion-centric Aoyama district of Tokyo, Japan.

The important point about the shop was to provide customers with a better look of the products without any reflection. The light source is close by, and not shining from the ceiling. Each of the 10 cylindrical display pedestals are positioned directly below a corresponding pendant fixture. These fixtures provide most of the lighting in the space, supplemented by recessed spotlights. The result is a group of bright, round pools dominating an overall dimness.
